2018 Michigan Academy of Science, Arts & Letters Conference

Faculty, graduate and advanced undergraduate students are invited to present papers at the Linguistics section of Michigan Academy of Science, Arts, and Letters conference. The one-day conference will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 on the campus of Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Over 30 different sections in various academic disciplines will be holding sessions this year as part of the interdisciplinary/multi-disciplinary regional conference. One of them is the Linguistics section, which was added to the conference last year and became an effective platform for Michigan linguists to interact and exchange ideas, with quality presentations and lively discussions.

We encourage researchers to submit their proposals on any area of Linguistics / Applied Linguistics. Unlike many large national meetings, the Michigan Academy conference offers a low-stress option for faculty and students to share their research and get valuable feedback. It is also more affordable than many conferences. The early registration rates are $150 for faculty (with full Academy membership and a subscription to the academic, peer-reviewed journal Michigan Academician), $130 for students with full membership, and $90 for students with free limited membership.

The abstract submission deadline is December 8th, 2017.  To submit an abstract, please go to the Michigan Academy website: themichiganacademy.org OR x-cdsystem.com/masal/

The Academy's website themichiganacademy.org has a link to the general Call for Papers (which lists all sections planning programs) and links to section leaders' contact information.
